It's great that you're learning, and hope it goes well for you (Last time I tried to learn a language was Hindi. My teacher thought I was attempting to mock her language within 10 minutes and stopped speaking to me). However, just because you're still learning, doesn't mean an effort is inappropriate! Though I imagine casual speaking is quite useful, isn't it also useful to have it mentioned when you're blatantly and horrifically wrong? Don't get lazy on a convoluted language like English. The only good thing I can say about it is that a chair is not a feminine word.
