No way, Xbox Live is probably the most profitable aspect of the 360. They have millions of people paying for something you typically get for free.

It would make more sense to to drop the console prices down an additional $50 for the Arcade and Elite. Much of that will be made back in online services a lone.

That you get typically for free where?...This gen Maybe...After XBL everyone wanted to provide an online gaming service..everyone...They just knew they could not keep up..Steam is problably the only thing close(and I mean by close that people generally like and are not defending becuase it's on their console)..but do retail PC games support Steam?......
