I'll answer your ending question: No.
A world of gay people would still reproduce. Lots of gay people want babies, too, and they use all kinds of techniques to get them. Surrogate mothers, artificial insemination, baby-daddies, whatever. There's a link between the need for sex and the need to procreate, obviously, but they are also distinct urges. There are people who want sex and don't want children, and there are also (crazy) people who want children but don't care for sex. A world full of gay couples might not much enjoy hetero sex to procreate, but they'd do it for the children, though they might cook up all kinds of interesting schemes to make it easier or less personal.
