The problem I have with Amnesty, is people don't hire illegal aliens because they can't find Americans to do the job, they hire them because they are cheep. You make 12 million Illegal aliens legal, and you just opened up a huge market for more people to cross the border, and put 12 million people out of work. |
Well, it is a combination of inexpensive labor and jobs Americans are unwilling to perform. There are some jobs that immigrants perform that Americans are also willing to perform-for example, jobs at plants owned by Tyson Foods. However, there are some jobs that, unless the wages were increased exponentially to an exorbitant amount, I am uncertain most Americans would perform them-for example, farm laborers. The best solution is an increase in legal immigration. They are going to come, and we have to accept that. The most prudent solution would be to control and track them.
