Starcraft, popular opinion is not a confirmation of anything. Hell, Metacritic isn't even popular opinion - it's a collective aggregate of a very specific and narrow band of value sets. If you want to get picky about it, popular opinion is only shown in sales, and if we go by that then the Wii has the best software library by far.
But popular opinion is not indicative of anything. That's ignoring that individuals can have unique value sets that determine what makes an experience good for them. That's why I chose a 360 over a PS3, you know: I wanted to play Gears co-op online with my little brother.
