He didn't just let her drown, he caused her to drown. He drove the car off the dyke. On top of that, if he had just called the police when he did it, she would most likely be alive. She was found drown in the corner of the car where an air pocket would have formed. The diver that found her said if the police were contacted right away, he thinks he would have gotten to her before the air had run out.

But, he was drunk and wanting to run for Obama's job in 1972, so was too scared and shaken to do the right thing.

We all have our faults I guess, his just manifested into something much bigger then most. He was not a man of malice, just a man who made a few very bad choices. Ones if he could do all over again, I am sure he would do differently.

Oh, and sorry Rath, but his politics sucked.
