@ dtewi: I say both. Why? Because you gotta go through the levels first to see what's so difficult about them. I mean, the enemies in both games move the same (left to right, right to left...) and appear from the left-side of the screen to trick you sometimes... so there's no real difference in difficulty between both games. No bosses are especially harder than the other, it's all about building a strategy for different levels.
Also, the Spread Gun is your best friend.
Oh, and Contra is on the Virtual Console in Europe only I think.

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...
