Why would they do that? The PS3 needs to remain a high calibur piece of hardware. Until they can get current PS2 slim sizes theres no reason to remove the power supply. The spacial design is so elegant I have been staring at it for like 20 minutes at work and a couple of the other engineers are now circulating the link to look at haha.
