Well like you said movies can be dumb and great on purpose...like the Grindhouse movies by Tarantino and Rodriges, or Borat. And then you get big budget productions like GI Joe and Transformers that are bland and boring.
Same with games... some big producsion games (no names)...are so bland to me...even if they are polished to the point that you can't see the Turds they actually are.
