I'd only suggest contemplate this if you can make more money by selling the 60Gig than it will cost you to replace with the Slim and PS2. Slim + PS2 = $398. Can you sell 60Gig for $400?
60Gig Phat > PS3 Slim + PS2 Slim both in terms of space occupied and features. One is good, the other is bad.
I'd only consider flicking on the 60Gig if I really thought there was a chance of it going bust. If it goes bust then you have a worthless door stop and you will need to spend the money to replace it. If you sell it then you can subsidise your slim purchase.
Lastly, how much do you believe the "b/c never coming back to PS3" statements from Sony?
I have an 80Gig bought just 2 months ago, I have no plans to trade in for a slim, ever. I'm expecting phat to last the duration and I'll only be replacing it with PS4; maybe, if I'm still interested in gaming once PS4 has been out for 3 years and had 2 price cuts.
