Replacing the engine/fuel cells/electric car batteries for a car cost in the range of $5000 to $10000 if you get new parts and are out of warranty. If the problem is not widespread, it is unfortunate for the individual who wants the repair but not up to the manufacturer to eat the costs to repair when they have fulfilled their obligations of the sale.

Exactly, not only that but the car warranty is a lot longer because a car is more expensive. It's like she is relating what happened to her as the same as just buying a car at the same time and having to repair it. When in reality the only way you are spending 10k on repairs is from the wear and tear they go through. I bought a 13 year old car and had to replace brake, rotors, calipers, timing belt, water pump, clutch, and various other things (right now I have a cracked muffler pipe and parts are over 1k alone) and no where do I expect Mitsubishi to replace them or take the responsibility. The car quote was just to make it sound worse than it really is.
