Yeah, FF13 was also "exclusive", and FF14 was also "only coming to PS3 on consoles". Don't hold your breath.

Besides, fans complain about why SE has all the exclusive jrpgs on 360, but whine about losing FF13 exclusivity, and are so proud of FFvs13 being PS3 exclusive - i find that a real double standard. Either you stop bitching about SE's support of 360 because you have your own exclusive, or you should support all titles being multiplat, like i do.

Tretton worded the announcement very well, PS3 is the only console that you will be able to FF XIV on in 2010

And, we are moaning because they lied to us. SE said TLR would come to PS3, it has not. We are also annoyed that SE has given the 360 Project Sylpheed, (Infinite Undiscovery), the Last Remnant and Star Ocean 4. The only SE games we are getting from them any time soon are XIII and Eidos games which don't really count. I know they have Front Mission Evolved and Nier coming, but all we care about is the big games and the jRPGs. But all will be forgiven if they give us Kingdom Hearts III

I know, i just couldn't be bothered paraphrasing it. It's been discussed already, i expected people to know that. Anyway, it was very clever phrasing that didn't stop people from claiming it was an exclusive and megaton and what not. Ends up being the same for the fans that read it at the time, even though Tretton clearly made a distinction.

Well, i can understand that. But like i said, they should all be multiplat. I see zero reason for SO4 and TLR and all that being 360 exclusive, likewise i see no reason why Versus13 or an eventual Kingdom Hearts III need to be PS3 exclusive. I have both consoles, so the exclusivity is not an issue for me, i just think it's silly. For a bit more time and development cost, they could sell almost double and make much more money by having their games on both consoles, really doesn't make sense to me.

SE's weird market decisions haven't just been on the home consoles - some of the DS/PSP stuff is strange, and furthermore, they have said FF13 will be on PC as well, so why wouldn't FFvs13 be on PC?

Considering past statements, it just seems to be bias - some project directors seem to be very pro-PlayStation, while it's been the executives that have pushed for multiplat or other platforms, searching for additional / higher revenue streams. But since these views clash, there hasn't been a true multiplatform strategy from SE, imo.
