I just know they're going to start abusing the legislation to cut off people who use file-sharing for legitemate purposes like downloading Linux distros, obtaining digital copies of stuff they already own or using material under fair use.

The worst part of this is that it's not the courts deciding whether you've broken the law, it's Ofcom (who will be told to do it by the music industry). So you don't even have to have done anything to be cut off. What about IP spoofing innocent connections?

Even the BBC uses (used?) file-sharing for one part of its iPlayer.
