See by releasing multiple titles a year, they make sure theirs something for everyone, and they actually are more likely to sell more copies combined then if they would have released just one game a year. And its cheaper than buying individual songs/song packs for DLC. But of course people that don't like Activision/Rythm games wouldn't understand.

It's never the consumer that doesn't understand, it's always the company. Companies who say that are ones that fail..
OT: I think without The Beatles: Rockband and DJ Hero this year, the music/rhythm genre would have shrunk. It's only a matter of time before they'll need a keyboard and bagpipes hero because people will grow tired of the guitar.
Call of Duty is a similar story, after MW2, if Activision don't change things up, the franchise will begin to decline next year.
