Half of it has nothing to dow ith the Slim and another half of it has no effect on the succes of the Slim and therefor won't contribute to saving Sony. The pricecut and the new model that combined could save Sony, I say could because I have no idea how the market will react in the long term. They could keep selling 200K+ worldwide for a long time but it could also go back to 100K+ in Q1 2010, both wouldn't suprise me. What could save Sony is if they had marked the Slim as a new start. But now it felt more like ''you asked for it, here it is, the PS3 Slim, have fun!''. Releasing a white PS3 Slim + the PS Wand is the thing to do imo. By now people must have become tired of the Wii and full body motion might be the thing they are interested in. Who knows a great deal of them might have realized that they want something better looking then the Wii can produce and if they can get that all + BluRay for 300 dollars then that's a great deal.
