Bah, that sucked. I figured he was going to rip it a new one like most games he reviews. Was kinda soft handed compared to some of his other stuff.
Also he really missed a big example of prolonging the game's length. Minor Spoilers.
Super Paper Mario has a pit of a 100 trials, just like the last one. Unlike the last one, when you beat it unlocks ANOTHER pit of 100 Trials in the "dark world." And if that's not bad enough, when you get to the bottom of it all you get is an empty room where a voice says something like "hey not bad, if you can do that again, you might get something." So you go back and have to repeat the exact same 100 tedious damn rooms, just because. And it's exactly the same, and you'll have gained a lot of experience and coins on your first trek, so doesn't add any challenge it's just annoying. You do it a second time you finally get your boss fight and reward.
And there's more, there's also the 100 Samurai showdown. Which is fighting, one at a time, 100 hundred Samurai warrior weirdoes, almost all of which fight about the same. Each and everyone with their own idiotic opening.
Don't get me wrong, I liked Super Paper Mario, but if someone is going to talk about the developers phoning it and desperately trying to stretch the game out, how you could miss that? =P
