Don’t plan on Linux taking control of your PS3 Slim then. Sony has removed the feature that allows you to install your own operating system. This is not a huge deal because it will not affect the majority of mainstream users and there will most likely be a few hacks that will take care of this eventually, but this is a great example of Sony taking away features on new products rather than adding them.
One of the biggest problems you’ll encounter with the PS3 Slim will be overheating, no doubt about it. The PS2 Slim overheated and so will this next generation. Smaller space equals less cooling fans and smaller heat sinks. Prepare to put this baby on an ice block.
Lol at the ice block comment. I'm expecting quite a few more of these in the upcoming weeks. |
Why must you get so defensive? The first paragraph is completely valid. Like it or lump it, every word of it is true and relevant. He points out that it is not a big deal (to most people at least) but it is true, Sony often removes a feature with a hardware refresh. Examples being this and backwards compatability.
The ice quote I'll admit is just funny.
Also funny is the thread title :P
