I will be getting a Slim, but I had a PS3 earlier on and sold it because my 360 got so much more use. I'm only getting it again because it is cheaper and my brother bought one so I'll play with him.
These are games machines. If you want a multimedia hub, build/buy a PC. Even so, the 360 has the better and easier media server capabilities since it can connect with any Windows Media Center enabled PC so easily, stream Netflix, etc.
