Everyone keeps saying, now that the 2 consoles are the same price, it shows how Sony's value is better. But we all know that the Elite was $400 just like the 80 gig PS3 before.

So I guess since the slim increased its hard drive to match the elite and forced the elite to drop in price, there is a little bit of leverage towards Sony because of this, but not as much as some of you may think.

The real change other than the fact that both systems now are $100 cheaper, is Microsofts elimination of the Pro.

This is not too smart imo. Instead of having a model with a hard drive that was (and would still be if the price dropped) less expensive than the Sony competition, Microsoft would hold a slight edge. but now the consumer is left with the gimped arcade model, (which we know doesnt sell that great) and the elite, which when looked at draws direct comparison to the PS3.

This comparison includes blu-ray, built in wifi, free online, and a system that is not notorious for RROD'ing.

So overall the comparison is not in Microsofts favor. Yes the 360 looks primitive, but not because of the PS3 price drop, but because of the elimination of the PRO model.

before the Pro was cheaper than the PS3. And Even after a $100 price drop of the "new pro" (Elite), that is no longer the case.

That is the fact that will bring down Microsofts sales for the rest of 09 (in comparison to Sony) imo.
