The only real difference between Jews and modern Christians is that the Jews believed there would be a messiah, but not the way Jesus was. They expected a ruler to come and change the world, not a humble work worker performing miracles and teaching life lessons. That's where Jews and Christians split. To Christians Jesus was the Messiah, to Jews, they're still waiting.
