Most economists state that the recession actually started in 2007 with the collapse of the housing market. The recession started showing more and more when we have had teh stock market dip last year.
And we were leaning to socialism as it were. The U.S. was never a truly captialist country. We are more captialist with socalistic tendencies. Which is why it's called a democracy than an captialist country.
