Gamers should think for themselves and not listen to PR. In my opinion it's just not worth 2 wait. I feel really sorry for gamers with lots of PS2 games that want to play them on PS3. Maybe there is still hope with the 250GB model.
Let me ask you this: are you willing to skip the PS3 just because of PS2 BC? You are right it's disappointing, what do you win if you keep on complaining forever? In my opinion 360 has bigger disasters convincing HD-DVD & RRoD. Wii has a disappointing 3 third party support. Far more important then lack of BC imo.
