When I played Shenmue I and II, it came along on 4 discs each. Still the game is one of the best ever created.
Final Fantasy VII came on 3 CDs (PS1) or 4 CDs (PC) and nobody had a problem with it. Many say one of the best games ever created.

Now it is a big deal all of a sudden, because there is one console that does not need to change discs (but installations).

Final Fantasy XIII might be on 3 DVDs. That means you have to stand up and change the disc every 10 - 12 hours of gameplay. As soon as it gets hard for you to stand up every 12 hours, you have some very serious problems and shpuld probably quit gaming forever.
