GT300 chips went in for full production on August 3rd. TSMC takes 22 weeks to deliver working chips from that, that would put it in January for availibility. That's if nothing goes wrong. If it requires a respin (almost all chips from either company have) it's more likely February.

They might manage low quantities for the press in Decemeber, but you're not buying one until next year. AMD is still September by the way.

I'm surprised they didn't aim to have them out before the end of the year. Not that I'm in the market for a DX11 card any time soon, but with the hype of Windows 7, it's possible that dx11 will take off where dx10 didn't. Add on to the fact that hardcore gamers are obviously the first to jump onto the latest and greatest, a 4-5 month gap could loss them a decent amount of sales.

Then again, many of the hardcore pc gamers I know are the biggest fanboys, and the nvidia fanboys wouldn't buy an AMD even if it was going to be 12 months for nvidia to get a DX11 card out...

that's not true, TONS of people jumped from an nvidia card to an HD4000 card. That is if the steam survey thing is correct.
