NZ will have to pay 625NZD instead of 445NZD that the americans are paying

EB games pre-order "special" price of $599. Too expensive by at least $50 IMO. If MS are ditching the Pro and putting the Elite at the pro price then the fully spec'd 360 will be at least $150 cheaper (EB games RRP for 360 pro is $449). Expect to see a bit of excitement with the Slim here, but if the $599 price stands don't expect to see any real shift. Then again we are an insignificant market so why bother making it price comparable with the rest of the world?

Not that I should care because I already have the Phat and I'm very happy with it, but if I was in the market for a PS3 then I would expect a 25% pricecut in the major markets to translate to a 25% cut here. Even at the rather inflated EB games "RRP" for the Phat of $769 a 25% cut is $576. And since I got my PS3 for $698 (with inFamous) I would be looking for the Slim to retail in the low $500 range.

Perhaps Sony NZ are not expecting the 360 Elite (Currently at RRp of $599, strangely enough) to drop right down to the Pro price here. We'll see I guess. I do expect the Slim to be in the same price ball park as the Elite, so if the Elite drops significantly I think the Slim will have enough fat in it to drop in response.
