Sony Explain Why The PS3 Slim Has No Backwards Compatibility

i have a launch ps3 and have NEVER used the BC for ps2... i have only used ps1 BC, which all ps3s have. in fact, only reason i replayed ff9 and ff7 this summer is because no new games are out lol. but either way.. ps2 BC is not needed in my opinion.
