BC is a legitimate concern. You are in the minority though maynard, believe you me.
If BC became a reality, a majority of responses would be, "Great, now it's finally a next gen console....360 ftw"
However, along with this price drop, you can now buy a ps3 and ps2 for around 350. It's not the same, but it's better than what it was.
EDIT: besides, Sony said that 80-90% of potential ps3 owners say that they want it for ps3 games.
