There is an element of 'same old' that is needed for certain games. Gamers buying R&C are expecting more of what they know, its the same with say GTA. Its well within Rockstar or Insomniacs ability to make massive changes (although they may not be for the best), its just the target gamer doenst really want them. At the end of the day they are making games for profit, not to poineer anything new.

Mario titles however have always been known for pushing the boundaries of the genre and thats exactly what i'm expecting. I would have loved another Maroi64 style game, but that wouldnt have been what the market expects.
