This.  They're already sure-fire hits that'll make at least 5 mil, they're gonna keep Gears 3 back (or should) 'til 2011, which is pretty good is terms of more time to polish among other things.

I would not be so certain. You have to remember, pre-E3 anyone whos anyone would have said that 2009 was the Halo game year and 2010 was the Gears 3 year. Gears 3 in 2010 was logically and naturally, expected. It's Bungie who surprised us with Halo Reach, which people did not expect to see and so it's altered peoples expectations somewhat.

So logically it could be 2010 or 2011, depending on other factors and by that I mean Xbox 3, if Gears 3 comes 2010, Xbox 3 will be 2011, but if G3 is pushed back to 2011, then 2012 for Xbox 3 would seem likely. They wouldn't launch Gears 3 & new console in the same year.

 

 

Why not? Gears 3 would be an epic launch title. (However if Natal is a success at selling consoles I would not expect the xbox 3 that early.
