Greetings all,
Decades of playing, I’m sure we have warmhearted memories of our past gaming love. I mean who here doesn’t remember playing Secret of mana (multi player). First time seeing Soul Calibur on the DC ( wow). Witnessing the FMV of FF VII to find the in game graphics were not so hot but it was the first 3D FF game (sure the first pics we saw was for the ultra64) that brought FF to the masses.
In a time of much fanboys and media nonsense, we tend to forget the real reason why we picked up the controller in the first place. How can I forget the 30 years of gaming to the present, and of course I look ahead to the future of what we want to see and might see.
I guess games have ran in my family forever but that magical feeling I once had when I opened the NES box to the N64 has been lost. I mean gaming now isn’t what we remembered it to be, and I’m sure you all have your loved moments.
I can say I’ve finished over 2000 games and this might seem like a lot to some but when you’re young with a lot of time on your hands. Days turn to weeks, weeks turn to months, and the years have flown by, I can share a few moments…
It was the summer that FF III ( IV in JP) and I was playing a marathon and like many I had 2 controllers in the SNES. I was fooling around and noticed there was something in there for 2nd controller so I switched it and I didn’t notice any change until I went into battle… HEY! WTH.. my guys aren’t doing anything, I was playing on active play. Then my cousin had the controller in his hand and I noticed he could take control of my Sabin… well that was a moment, FF multiplayer!!!
Do you remember finally using the N64 analog stick on Mario64, my world of 2D gaming changed from there? All I remember was OMG this was so epic, of course young kids nowadays are raised with 3D games and won’t get the same feeling. But Mario64 brought me back into the scene, I won’t lie but I was loosing interest in games and this was only happening because of the numerous amounts of games I played and finished. 120 stars, man that was a ride.
Resident Evil 1 & 2 on PS1, my world of gaming has grown up and who better to bring but my favorite developer that gave me Mega Man 2 & 3 (btw that second controller in my NES help me find that invincible trick jumping in whole yet again lol), back to RE1 & 2… what can I say, I love the game but when Capcom brought RE3 Nemesis with the mercenaries that I think was the turning point for me. Enter RE4, my favorite in the series. I know many of you have a bigger love for the 1st and 2nd and so do I but RE4 would have been so epic if they kept the zombies but whatever I still looked at them as zombies.
Oh currently playing Last Remnant on 360… If I can rate this game from my past gaming experiences, 2.5 sounds about right. I had gotten it for my birthday in March and the only reason why it didn’t hit Ebgames yet is because I want to finish it and get what little achievements out of it first. What a bad game, wait… I mean OMFG, how did they get away making this game. Only plus side… you can save anywhere like a pc ( yay -_-‘’)
Anyways drop me a line if you wish to play some RE5 on 360, tell me in advance if you want to play RE5 on PS3 (week ends only)
Take care.
PC,Console & handheld gamer.
