This has been promised for ages, with little progress. It's one of many technologies touted to replace conventional electronics; others include "spintronics", "atomtronics", replacing the electrons with photons, and many forms of quantum computing.
Also, do we need the additional power? Today's sub-$150 CPU runs every consumer application fine, it's only the high-end workstations that are CPU-bound.
