Sony - It was all a plan... - View Post

but being expensive does not mean it has to be overpriced, if it already been sold at a less value than its basic production cost then technically its "underpriced" if anything. plus the real value of the console is determined by each individiual customers, if you don't like the game on a console then it's really worth nothing to you, but some other people might still find it worth the purchase, its too subjective to say ps3 is overpriced based on your personal preference, I'm not convinced.

You wouldn't be...

The PS3 has extras that just don't matter to the consumer,  in comparison to the other two consoles, yes, it is overpriced. If you knew anything about the market you would understand that profit loss does NOT = underpriced goods. Rather, profit loss = too few products sold. You see, if the PS3 cost less to make, Sony could sell it at a lower cost, and they would sell more of them. As I'm sure you know, the initial manufactoring costs are generally high, but over time, the manufactoring costs shrink, the more products you sell, the more the costs shrink, and the more profit you turn. So, Sony made a huge blunder in that they included WiFi and a Blu-ray player in the PS3 Neither of which are trhat important to the average consumer, and both of which raised manufacturing prices. The WiFi probably didn't raise it that much, but the Blu-Ray player would have.
