All those are common in RPG's, but none of them are required. One thing that I think that is necessary to have a Role Playing games, is a world, of any kind where you can walk around freely. Dissidia, like many other action games, doesn't have that. I would just call this a highly customizable action game. To be honest, if it wasn't for the open world, most Action Rpgs would be fighting games imo. Also Square Enix probably only wants to label it as an Action RPG because they know their fans are RPG fans, and if they labeled it as Action or Fighting they might lose some people.
