Then look at Europe the last time there was a PS3 price cut in Europe the PS3 beat the 360 by 20,000 or more each week until Microsoft decided to use two price cuts in that region. Throw in GT5's impending release in Europe and Microsoft planning to raise the price of the Arcade in Europe, that puts all of that momentum back into Sony's court. Then thrown in the 360's other problems still having the rrod. All of Microsoft's big games being shoved back to 2010 while Sony is set to have a stellar Christmas. At the very least Sony should have the 360's lead down to the 5 to 6 million range again in the not too distant future. Of course since both consoles will have probably sold 30 million plus units by the middle of 2010 no Western developer is going to stop making PS3 versions of their games while the strength of Japanese developers will continue to swell due to the ff, etc, sales, you see PS3 winding up with the type of game library that the PS2 had goin for it while we'll be getting games in the same tired old series from MS . . . It all leads back to PS3 coming out the victor the HD wars if they continue to play their cards right. |
The problem is that they haven't played their cards right so far this generation (3 years) unless they planned on being in 3rd place the first 3 years of PS3's lifespan. So the "if" is a big "IF".
Being in 2nd feels so much better than being in 3rd
