Transformers had record breaking day 1 HD format sales, and yet those sales still equaled only 2% of the total 1st day sales. Blu-ray and HD DVD are still both complete non-factors. To think, not a month ago I remember people saying DVD would be dead by 2009. These formats have been in retail more than a year and can still only take 2% of the movie sales. |
I have never heard that DVD would be dead by 2009. HD DVD, however... |
I'm pretty sure it was leo-j who said it, so it's not necessarily logical (kidding leo-j). Still, even suggesting HD DVD will be dead when recently most news has been overwhelmingly positive for HD DVD (Paramount exclusivity, record breaking day 1 sales, $200 player, etc.) doesn't make much sense. Not that either matter, but HD DVD obviously isn't going anywhere.
