since you not seem to be interested in Halo (which is a shame), otherwise you would already have one, I would recommend you to get one late this year or early next year. Splinter Cell Conviction, Mass Effect 2, Alan Wake (all early next year) should be reason enough.

No, I never really liked Halo that much, played 1 and 3 (although not online). I started Mass Effect and wasn't overly keen on the combat but I think it deserves another go based on everyone elses reaction to the game as a whole. Splinter Cell, Alan Wake and Lost Odyssey are pushing me over the edge though.
