I used to work Famous Players in a theatre and was assistant manager at one point...
Theatre take is 20%
They make all their money on food.
The movie cost 30 mil, and it had somewhat quiet marketing campaign which I'd estimate around 15 million. Lets say 20 million spent for distribution and advertising.
In order for the studio to make profit here they will have to make 62.5 mil at box office. This is even before DVD, rentals, TV rights... Movie should make 2-3X the money worldwide in my opinion when its all said and done.
