FF has a following which is why it sells so much more than ME. It should do after 12 games. Bioware IMO and many others are better than SE. And honestly Square lost some great story writing and direction to Mistwalker. I more than anyone want FF13 to be great. |
Dude this has nothing to do with adulthood. I am 22 years old as well and I don't see in any way what relevance this has to the games we are talking about. Almost every Final Fantasy has a very serious and mature story. And no, you are completely wrong, FF stories have not gotten wrose at all. In fact, Final Fantasy X and XII had two of the most standout stories out of any game in the series. The story in XII is probably the most serious and mature out of the entire series.
FF is a teenage story, but Lost Odyssey's story was told maturely??? Did we play the same Lost Odyssey? Don't get me wrong, I absolutley love the game. But Final Fantasy games (for the most part) have much more mature stories than L.O. The whoooole part of Lost Odyssey with Mack and Cooke, and the decision to include them as main characters in the game to begin with, made that game much less mature than most FF's. All the little goo goo gah gah scenes involving Mack brought the game down for me (it's still the best RPG this gen. by far). Not to mention Lost Odyssey relied HEAVILY on themes taken from Final Fantasy X (and the entire FF series in general).
Simply from playing the demo from FFXIII I can tell you that it will have a very serious story. And Square Enix abstolutley anihilates Bioware as far as making RPG's goes.
