The problem that is going to drive down this games sales is quite obvious to any fan of the series. Three new maps is nothing less then a epic insult. Especially once you consider that the modes are what determines which of the maps you get to use. So for sixty dollars you might get a new map. The new modes seem interesting, but if they aren't translating to the old maps they are hardly of any real mention. Especially since you can already play poor mans versions in Halo 3 already.
This game will be worth buying if you do not already own Halo 3, or if you aren't up to date on your map packs. However if you already have 3, and have all the map packs then this is a really far more expensive then it ought to be. Basically it is the best customers getting the screws put to them. Honestly I am really weak on my desire to pick up this game its far too light in the value for me, and I am reasonably certain I will just be able to buy the one map I will pay for ten bucks in a few months, or pick this game up at half price after the sales really drop off after four or five months.
This is justification enough for Microsoft to not heavily advertise this game. It doesn't have what the real fans need or really want. Which is at the very least seven or eight new maps. A couple new game modes that apply to old maps. Some new weapons and items.
