the diary was stuff he had gotten from the Spanish. My bet is he would have put a copy there in case he didn't get the treasure while he was going after it. Otherwise why would Francis put it there since he didn't want the treasure to get off the island in the end.
I thought you were going to ask about how Eddie Raja could afford that many pirates? Or the Monsters? Or the explosives placed in places who knows when conveniently sitting there waiting? Or how about the monsters? Or how did Sullivan get out?
Or how did the pirates get into rooms you had to solve puzzles to get into? Or how are the puzzles reset if drake had come through there since I'm sure he didn't set some of them himself?
I still love the game but I just turn my brain off and let the happy world make its own sense.
