If at all? There's was a trilogy planned from the get-go bud.

Was it always planned to be a trilogy?  Even if not, you don't just abandon a franchise that has sold nearly 11 M games. 

I think 2011 sounds pretty good for a release window, MS wouldn't want their top two exclusive shooter franchises to cannabliize each others sales.

If they release in 2010 its Halo + Gears + Treyarch FPS

If they release in 2011 its Gears + Infinity Ward FPS + Possibly Half Life Ep 3.

I don't see much difference in going up against a Infinity Ward and going up against Bungie personally.

 

Good point.  Then again, I guess the community supported Halo 3 and CoD 4 in the same calendar year and both turned out fine so it may not even matter.
