It seems hes right about the side scrolling thing. The game hes talking about is Moon Patrol. I used to play that on my 2600, fun game. Moon Patrol was one of the earliest linear side-scrolling shoot'em ups and the first arcade game to feature parallax scrolling. Strait from Wiki. And i know it says arcade but i played this game and it is a side scroller and it came out in 82.
I have read, forums, and heard others talk on podcasts about Nintendo inventing parallax scrolling, but it seems they didnt.
But come on Moon Patrol vs Super Mario Bros...Lol
