Piracy will always exist. Because some people are just not willing to pay. People do it all the time in real life to the internet.

Maybe instead of just jumping on the spot screaming ""Copyright laws!"" Which obviously dont work majority of the time (laws being to prevent people from doing it) Maybe they have to think ""How are these people doing it and what can we do to provide that service for less or better?""

Look at Hulu, itunes, southpark online. They understand million of people want content now for cheap (even free) so what do you do? Sell Ad space. Millions of people are going to watch certain artists, shows etc, so you sell out the space with ads, even with ad block they have the hard numbers to show that many people viewed that page and at one point must of seen the coke ad.

*Bing* Profit. Exactly how they did it with TV. You beat the pirates at there game of providing entertainment even at much higher quality they have.

Most anime companys have decided now to release there shows online with english subtitles (including mother fucking ONE PIECE AND NEW FULL METAL ALCHEMIST!) before any one else has a chance to release a poorly subtitled show or film. Bing Profit returns. How much? Well one of the first companys doing that in Australia (madman entertainment go there now!) have made so much there now a GAMES PUBLISHER ONTOP.

Doing this also eliminates dodgy sellers. The art industry is full of sharks who I'v seen are willing to pay for people work then sell for 400,000 more. The Artist now can directly distrubute his work on his terms (as long as he pays tax its alright)


Before I go crazy and give more storys, the bottom line is Piracy exists, yes its sucks but its life. So to really top them is not to relie on a law written on paper but actual work to one up them. Not by arresting or expensive cases, just provide the content before them and quick as possible.

But since this all became a big issue since the MP3 boom, it was just an industry refushing to sell music for less and embrace the change in the market.
