So it was like a "flamboyantly carefree to the point of being oblivious to morality" type of thing then? I'm just glad we dropped the word "homophile." The movement tried to co-opt that word for a while, like they've recently co-opted Queer (with a capital Q) as an umbrella term, but... the word just sounds weird. Too close to pedophile. You can't really end anything in "phile" anymore without it sounding gross now.
I never even knew where the word gyp came from. And I was about to ask "So how did gyp come from racism?" but all of a sudden my master deduction skills kicked in and made sense out of it for me. Man I'm dumb.
