RPGs are pretty good at 40 hours minimum. 65 hours is usually when it drags on, unless the story is good and you need to grind before the last boss or something.

Other genres are worth a full price purchase at 25+ hours, reduced price can be 15 hours.

I don't think every game should be 25 Hours.  Shooters start to get tiring after 10 hours.  I mean, a lot of people already don't finish their games as it is.  Some games are too long and it doesn't help that video game endings tend to suck albeit not all of them.  25+ hours should be reserved for epics like Final Fantasy, Persona, and any other series that can stay good throughout.

Nowadays, shooters usually have online, which adds to that original 10 hours. Gears of War wasn't too long, but the online adds A LOT. That factors in to the 25h I mentioned. However, I can't accept buying a game like The Force Unleashed full price and not even getting 7 hours out of it, with no other features to extend gameplay. Wolverine was like almost 8, still not good enough.

I think some of the games being short is a side effect of the fast rate of the rising of development costs.  That's just my guess.  Game developers still haven't figured how to lower development costs while still being cutting edge.  They need to reach a compromise of the industry could be in big trouble.
