Its a commercial decision and they are a business.
The PS3 takes up a lot more resources and time when developing for it compared to the Direct X based machines.
In turn this allows you to tap the smallest of the three main markets.
It kinda sucks but moaning to Valve wont do a thing. Blame the bods at Sony who decided to pull away from the standard architecture.
