many people this, many people that. I think we cal all agree that some people want BC and some people don't need it. We're all bringing together the same tired old arguments and it boils down to this:
A: "But I want BC"
B "But I don't need BC"
A "But I WANT BC"
B "But I don't NEED BC"
A "BUT I WANT BC"
B "BUT I DON'T NEED BC"
so let's just agree that some people want it and they can buy the model with BC (if it still exists when the PS3 is affordable) and some people don't want it and they can buy the cheaper one.
personally, I wouldn't buy a PS3 without it
