PC - Total War Franchise - View Post

Anyone here play any of the Total War Games? I've been hooked on it ever since Shogun: Total War came out in like 2000.

What I like about it is that combines the turn-based Civ type city management style with an actual RTS. When you fight, you don't have to worry about collecting minerals or any of that stuff that's common the C&C/Starcraft games and its family of clones.

I like how the units are actually squads or groups of 60+ dudes with swords/spears/random pointy objects and the extreme realism of the formations/fatigue/morale/ammo that the units are subjected to.

Then the units can get upgraded armor/weapons, and can even get BETTER with experience (provided that they don't all get killed off); as can your general, which gets attribute bonuses for winning more and more battles (or conversely, can get negative attributes for losing too many battles.

I always seem to go on a Total War binge whenever i think about the movie "The 300" or really anything that involves spartans against some ungodly amount of persians.
