If we listen to Iwata, were WSR to make an impact on hardware sales, it won't be seen until September NPD. He said in his investor Q&A that hardware increases from evergreen titles don't hit until weeks 6-8. Q2:

Furthermore, Wii sales need to double or triple to get back to 2008 levels, and Iwata basically ruled that out as a possibility for WSR.

NSMBW will be the biggest hardware driver for Wii for the rest of the year, and a cumulative effect of NSMBW, WSR and WFP could somewhat restore sales.

NSMB DS charting in the top 10 with over 100K in sales, in it's 39th month on the market, is a great sign for NSMBW. The demand for 2D Mario games is obviously astrological.

EA needs to shluff everything but it's sports division. Nintendo has 6 of the top 10 games of the month, and the other 4 belong to Peter Moore. I hope Bobby Kotick is sweating.

360 could beat Wii in both August and September NPD with Madden and Halo. Those games provide a single-month bump every time. I do think interest in both Madden and Halo is way down, but 360 isn't behind by much right now.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
