Way back when, it just seemed like all the names of things were taken from ff games.
"Phoenix" resurrected players..
"good luck bell"
Similar story conventions like mist, and sucking the earth dry, and I never really liked the character design either.
I dunno, I was young, I guess they really weren't all that similar. The story was just so slow, and the graphics weren't that interesting and the level design was poor and bland. I dunno, I played this right after playing ff7, so maybe it was a comparison effect.
